Travelling junkie

Hello My Name is Caroline and im an addict!!!
Well i guess i shouldnt use the word junkie but considering that im even more hooked on travelling then before, and that i seem to be bringing other people in the dark world of welll.... the world, i guess i can even be called a travelling pusher! god, please anybody, watchout for my bad influence, i should come with a warning sticker pn my forehead like packs of cigarette (warning: might influence you into leaving your job and living a bohemian life)
oh well you all are now warned.... ( Let me explain, a good friend (to say the least) seems to be keen on leaving his job next year and travel with me!!!!) simon, you must warn him!

so anyways, i finally managed to put some pictures on this blog... the first six where with my biking buddies... even the one where we were towing the bike.... ha! i wontr forget that night in a hurry.... the last two: one was with my train friends and the last one of the crowd at the closing of the border....
hope it finally works!

indian awakening

noo... not the spiritual kind..... nono

its just that in the middle of last week it hit me...... the cultural shock that i didnt know i had just left me...... and its beeen really amazing since then....

yes, im still alone but I think Ive had the best travelling week ive ever had, ever....

so after daramsala, i headed to amristar, the city on the border with pakistan.... Oh what an experience, they have this closing of the border which is the worst (or best???) display of patriism i have ever seen.... so this ceremony involves just closing the border and taking down the flag.... thats its, they do it every day, but man, its like a football game, there is this guy with a mike that make everybody scream and chant so thats its louder than the pakistany side....and screaming thing like "India motherland.... inedependance, yeah!!!!" it was excellent.... and they have an amazing temple...

then, i was headed on another train trip from hell, my first where i slept in the train with the average indian.... all i was hoping for was a cart with at least a few women inside..... ha, it was cool, these six young woman took me over, made me sit with them, sing and even dance .... they even invited me to a wedding in november, but unfortunely will be long gone for that...

after, agra.... wich means tajmahal.... it is really stunning, worth every penny, and at night, sat on a rooftop restaurant with a book, looking at the sun set on it..... now how amazing is that....

then took another 12 hour train ride to jodhpur, also nicknamed the blue city..... and in the train i was put in a cart with only men.... but it was really cool, we played cards for hours, it was pretty hilarious considering they spoke almost no english, here they are, teaching me how to play..... but i beat their ..... haha.. they also taught me a few more words in hindi...

so anyways, its been pretty amazing, the fort here is stupendis( is that even a real word??)
headed to udaipur tomorrow ( i hope)....mom its the place you send me that email about...

take care all of you and give me some news...
merci alex pour ton questionnaire... trop drole

sorry ma'am no is possible

So hello....iknow it hasnt been long since last time but i got a funny story.... well i think its funny anyways. I have gotten a few blank stares by people thought ( tourist blank stares for a change!!!)
so anyways, i think this is a tipical indian story, it happens ALL the time!!!

So my friend's sister is in india and goes to a little tea place and asks for chai ( indian sweet tea with loads of sugar and milk) the owner than replies:
- sorry ma'am, no is possible, no milk.....
so she then answer... hum ok then ji (friend) noproblem, can i have a coffee....
-yes ma'm is possible..... do you want milk in coffee,
she then says oh you have milk....
- yes ma'am.....
-oh.... so can i have chai then
so he repliesas if nothing had been said before
- yes ma'a no problem, one chai

anyways, i dont know if you hve t0obe in india tounderstndit but i find it hilarious.....

so then.... just been to the most sacred place for sickks (the one who wear turbansand knife...you know we had a big thing in canada with kids that wnted to bring their religious knifes in school....), in amristsar called the golden temple, and its absolutely stunning.... amazing..... im staying in the temple dorms in the foreigner section and you can stay forfree, nd walk in the temple at night.... so beautifull, people are also less agressive here, very good!!! i heard there is a huge sign saying: " Forget toronto, go to amristsar"!!!, have togo and find it totake a picture!!!!
